If you’re a Successor Trustee preparing to sell a property, there are two key things to know:
1️⃣ If the original Trustees have passed away, the Trust needs a valid Tax Identification Number (TIN). If one doesn’t exist yet, it must be requested through the IRS.
2️⃣ Sale proceeds can only be disbursed to a bank account in the name of the Trust, not to any individual.
